ABOUT ME

My name is Alejandra and I am a Registered Dietitian and certified sobadora practicing in Los Angeles, California and Phoenix, Arizona. Casa Mama was born from a deep belief that postpartum women deserve more than a 6-week check up and a pamphlet.

I am trained in the traditional practice of Sobada de Matriz, — a womb care technique rooted in Mayan ancestral medicine — and hold clinical credentials as a Registered Dietitian, I bring together two powerful disciplines that are rarely found in the same hands.

My approach is whole-body, whole-person: tending to the womb through touch, to the body through nourishment, and to the spirit through ceremony.

I became a sobadora because I know what it feels like to be held postpartum. I became a dietitian because I know food is medicine — and postpartum mothers are rarely fed the way they deserve.
